Douglas Ray Fulkerson of Nacona, Texas, formerly of Newton, died Oct. 24, 2020. Doug was born in Newton to Donald Ray and Mary Louise Fulkerson Aug. 2, 1961. Doug graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1979. He attended DMACC following graduation.

Doug worked at Maytag until its closure. He then attended boot-making school in Nacona, Texas where he learned the leather trade. In 2009, Doug moved to Nacona, Texas. He worked at the Nacona Glove Factory and operated a leather repair shop at his home.

Doug is survived by his mother, Mary Louise Fulkerson of Madrid; sister and brother-in-law, Marta and Todd Poots of Huxley; three nephews, Preston (Mark) Poots-Jacobsen, Matthew Poots (fiancé Marissa Breider) and Clayton Poots (Grace Nelson). He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray in 2010; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at The Edinberg, Missouri Cemetery at a later date.
