Sarah Alena Reed was born on May 29, 1859, on a farm near Carnforth, Iowa.
She came to Kellogg in 1884, where she was married on October 21st of that year to Charles Reed.
To them was born one son, Charles, of this city.
Besides Charles, there are now living, her father, Abraham L. Fry, who resides in Williford, Arkansas, three brothers and one sister, also one half-brother and one half-sister, two step-sisters and one step-brother.
Mrs. Reed has been ailing for some time, and when the end came it was with the word from her that she was prepared.
The funeral service was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Albert V. Hart.
