Raymond Floyd Parker, 56, of Newton, died Thursday evening at Memorial Hospital in Des Moines.
He was born Jan. 10, 1931, at Clarksburg, Mo., the son of Frank and Mary Jemima Baughman Parker.
Parker worked for United Telephone Company in Fairfield before transferring to Newton. He married Lucille Nicholson May 9, 1954. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Pamela Parker and Carol Gabbard, Boise, Idaho; one granddaughter and one step-grandson; two brothers, Wilson and Bill of Fairfield; and a sister, Grace Potts, Lewiston, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two infant brothers.
Services for Parker will be be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wallace and Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
