Nevada – Louise B. Staker, 87, of Nevada, formerly of Mingo, died Monday, Dec. 13, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames from congestive heart failure.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Nevada Seventh Day Adventist church. Burial will be at Ashton Cemetery near Mingo.
Visitation will be at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada today from 6 to 8 p.m.
The daughter of Earle and Bertha Pitcock Staker, she was born April 4, 1912, near Mingo. After graduating from high school, she worked as a health care assistant in Nevada at the Seventh Day Adventist Care Center and at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Portland, Tenn. Before retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Nevada Seventh Day Adventist church.
Survivors include her sister, Beverly Frahm of Newton; a niece, Nancy Kelting; and two nephews, Don Staker and Kelvin Frahm.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
