Gertrude Elaine Simpson, 72, of Colfax, died Wednesday, October 27, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 30 at Walters-Coburn funeral Home in Colfax with Merle Smith, chaplain of Skiff Medical Center, officiating. Burial was at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
The daughter of Claude David and Thelma Denisty Adams, she was born November 24, 1926, in Fulton, Missouri. She married Homer Simpson May 1, 1948, in Newton. A longtime resident of Jasper County, Mrs. Simpson was employed by Winpower for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Jane of Lawton, Oklahoma; a sister, Betty J. Ellis of Newton; and a brother, Jerry Adams of Peris, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
