Buford Leroy Edgerton, a former resident of Mingo, died November 20, at his home in Theodosia, Missouri.
Mr. Edgerton was born December 17, 1916, to Leroy Curtis and Eva Marie White Edgerton in Independence, Missouri. He married Mary Evelyn Bodenstein on December 19, 1942, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. They moved to Iowa in 1946, where he farmed until 1968. From 1968 until his retirement in December 1981, he worked for the Pulley Grain Elevator. Upon his retirement, they moved to Theodosia, Missouri.
Survivors are his wife, Evelyn; four daughters, Marilyn Matthews of Mingo, Carolyn Link of Maxwell, Mary Merl of Kansas City, Missouri and Natalie Elvins of St. Croix, the U.S. Virgin Islands; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother and three sisters, Don Edgerton of Huntsville, Missouri, Helen Ledgerwood of Phoenix, Arizona, Mary Mock of DeSoto, Missouri and Ann Smith of Licking, Missouri, and by many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Edgerton, and three sisters, Eva Morgan, Dorothy Arnold and Betty Zumwald.
Services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Isabella, Missouri on November 24, and burial was at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax on November 26.
