Dolores Marie Exley, 66, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Thursday, Jan. 23, at her home.
Funeral services were Monday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Carpe. Burial was at the McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Colfax Fire Department building fund will be accepted.
Born June 7, 1930, in Dexter, she was the daughter of E. Ray and Frony Capitola James. She graduated from Chariton High School in 1950.
She married Emil D. Exley in 1950 in Russell.
She worked as a custodian in the Colfax-Mingo School District.
She is survived by her husband; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Alan and Laura Exley of Colfax, Steven and Rhonda Schuman Exley of Cedar Rapids, Clifton Exley of Purcellville, Va., and Burt Exley of Colfax; three grandchildren; two brothers, Paul James of Algona and Athol James of Yakima, Wash.; and two sisters, Luene Rue of Lakefield, Minn. and Ivola Talbert of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene; and a sister, Lucinda King.
