Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for Dorothy M. Barker, 74, of 2900 Logan Ave., who died of a heart ailment Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital. Burial will be in McKeever Cemetery in Colfax.
Mrs. Barker was born in Colfax and moved to Des Moines in 1930. She retired in 1971 as secretary and bookkeeper at H. P. Sales Co. She also had worked for 17 years for Fairall & Co. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Rosary Society and Women of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh “Cid” Barker of Des Moines, and a sister, Frieda Gobe of Grinnell.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today, and a rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
