Robert A. Breer, 80, of rural Baxter, died Wednesday, July 5, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 8 at Ashton Chapel in rural Mingo with Pastor Bob Hinshaw officiating. Burial was at Ashton Chapel Cemetery.
Memorials in Mr. Breer’s name will be accepted.
The son of Adolph and Katherine Sinkler Breer, he was born December 26, 1919, in Sherburn, Minnesota. He graduated from Baxter High School in 1937. He married M. Maxine Forster September 28, 1939, in Princeton, Missouri.
A resident of Baxter since the 1920’s, Mr. Breer worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Ashton Chapel and the Jasper County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathie and Jerry Hudson of Collins and Carol Breer of Des Moines; three grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Betty Breer of Maxwell; and a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and John McWilliams of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters in infancy.
