Mamie Speak, 81, Died On Monday; Rites Thursday
Baxter – Mrs. Dewey (Mamie) Speak, 81, of Colonial Manor in Baxter, a resident of Mingo for 35 years before moving to Baxter, died Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Charles Luers, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Mingo, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Greencastle Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Survivors are a son, Keith L. of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Doris) Dickerson and Mrs. John (Barbara) Robson, both of Newton, four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lester McWilliams of Rockford, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1969, four sisters and three brothers.
The daughter of John and Ora Wisdom McWilliams, she was born March 6, 1902 in Centerville.
She was married Feb. 7, 1921 in Unionville, Mo.
