Mrs. Maxine Carroll, 77, of Colfax died Thursday, June 4, 1998, at the Mitchell Village Care Center in Mitchellville.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 8, at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with Pastor David Rex of the Newton Church of God, officiating. Burial was in Colfax Cemetery.
The daughter of Harry and Hazel LaValleur Thomas, she was born June 13, 1930, in Indianola.
She married Ronald Carroll on August 30, 1940, at Colfax.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Barbara Carroll of Newton; a daughter, Donna Jones of Colfax; five grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Carroll, a long-time Colfax resident, worked at Pat and Mel’s Restaurant for many years. She was also a route supervisor for the Newton Daily News.
Memorials may be made to the Colfax volunteer Fire Department.
