Resident’s Mother Died
Alice A. Brown Robinett, 88, of Gilman, died Monday, Aug. 7, at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 10, at Pursel-Davis Chapel in Marshalltown. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Marshalltown.
Survivors are a son, Dale of Tama; a daughter, Lillian McWhirter of Baxter; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in February, 1967, parents, four brothers, five sisters, a granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
The daughter of Hesakiah and Rena Neal Brown, she was born May 20, 1901 in Brumley, Mo. and was educated in Brumley.
She was married to Albert E. Robinett March 4, 1940 in Brumley.
The Robinetts moved to Iowa and farmed in Marshall and Tama counties before moving to Gilman in 1962.
