Dies At The Hospital
Leona May Sewell, Ten Year Old Girl Dies After an Operation For Tumor of the Brain
Leona May, ten year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Sewell, formerly residents of Baxter, but now living in Des Moines, passed away at the hospital at Rochester, Minn., where she had undergone an operation.
Leona May was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Sewell, and was born May 2, 1917, and died May 23, 1927, aged 10 years and 21 days. Several weeks ago she was taken suddenly ill and was taken to Rochester, where examination developed that she was suffering from tumor of the brain. An operation was performed and apparently was successful, but later she took a change for the worse and passed away.
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the family home in Des Moines, after which the body was brought to the Ashton Chapel cemetery, where interment was made in the family lot.
