Baxter (Special to The Daily News) – Charles S. Bishop was born June 7, 1862, near Newton and was a resident of Jasper county all of his life. He passed away in Newton, Ia., Wednesday evening, Nov. 14, at the age of 83 years, five months and seven days.
Mr. Bishop was united in marriage to Anna Goodwin in 1883. She passed away in 1888. To this union two children were born, Don E. of Faribault, Minn., and Bessie Brown of Maynard.
On April 8, 1891, he was united in marriage to Hannah Jane Wyatt, who passed away three years ago. To this union six children were born: Ralph C. of Minong, Wis., Burl B. of Chicago, Miles S. of West Concord, Minn., Morris A., Merle W. of Baxter, and Goldie E., deceased. Besides the six sons and one daughter, surviving relatives are 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Delbert G. Bishop of Des Moines and Jay A. Bishop of Newton.
