Steenhoek, Ardelia Mae – 1917-1999

Ardelia Mae Steenhoek, 82, of Colfax, died Tuesday, September 28, at her home near Colfax.
Funeral services was held Friday, October 1, Pastor Phil Butler and Pastor Danny DuRocher, officiating, burial at McKeever Cemetery, Colfax, Iowa. Memorials to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mrs. Steenhoek was born at Pella, June 17, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Dena (Van Roekel) Bensink. On August 22, 1941, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Steenhoek at Pella. They farmed in the Prairie City area for a time until moving to Colfax, where they farmed for most of their married lives.
Mr. Steenhoek preceded her in death on October 16, 1998. Also preceding her were her parents.
Mrs. Steenhoek is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Harley and Phyllis, Mingo, Gene H. and Lenis, Prairie City, and David H. and Sara of Bixby, Oklahoma, a daughter and son-in-law; Deanna and David Cooper of Colfax, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, Elvin Bensink, Montezuma and a sister, Verna Steenhoek of Prairie City. Mrs. Steenhoek was a member of the First Baptist Church of Colfax was well as the church’s Womens Missionary Circle.
