Charles Royal Mindham, 84, of 213 S. 15th Ave. W., died of cancer, Monday, Nov. 23, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Bob Hinshaw, pastor of the Ashton Chapel Church in rural Baxter. Burial will be at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. when family will be present.
Memorials in Mr. Mindham’s name will be accepted.
The son of Charley and Florence Mae Buckley Mindham, he was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Valeria. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1932.
He married June Geisler, and later, Gail J. Anthony Jan 29, 1956, in Newton.
A resident of Newton since 1933, he worked as a service station operator. Mr. Windham was a member of Golden Glove Boxing, an owner of carnival rides, drove stock cars and was a pilot.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert D. of Newton and Nelson of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Jo and Jerry Wilson of Roswell, N.M. and Roberta and Clarence Wells of Unionville, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Allen Morris of Redondo Beach, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, June Geisler (Mrs. Buford) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
