GRINNELL -- Rebecca S. Jurgensen, 50, of Grinnell and formerly of Kellogg, died Sunday, March 28, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service and burial will be held today at 3 p.m. at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell with the Rev. William D. Olson, deacon of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell, officiating. Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell is handling arrangements.
Memorials will be accepted to the Rebecca S. Jurgensen Memorial Fund.The daughter of Paul and Shirley (Gibson) Jurgensen, she was born March 13, 1954, in Grinnell. She was raised in Grinnell and received her education in the Grinnell School District. She later received an associate's degree in business management at Marshalltown Community College.
While living in Grinnell and Kellogg, she was employed at McCurry's Café, Grandpa's Café, Grinnell American Legion, Maytag and most recently at Game Time. She was a member of the Grinnell Eagles Auxiliary and Grinnell American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two children, Dustin Hotchkin and Sara Hotchkin, both of Grinnell; her parents of Grinnell; two brothers, Randy of Montour and Jim of Grinnell; three sisters, Connie Jo Jurgensen of Grinnell, Jackie Burgett of Lynnville and Bethanne Jurgensen of Burlington; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jason Hotchkin and one grandson, William Hotchkin.
