EAGLE GROVE -- June (Breckenridge Gambrill) Halligan, 87, of Eagle Grove, formerly of Newton, died Saturday, March 20, at USA Health Care of Clarion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

The daughter of Colonel B. and Carrie (Van Dyke) Combs, she was born in Sioux Rapids. She received her education and was raised in the area of her birth. In 1938, she married Red Breckenridge. He died in 1956. She married Lynn Gambrill in 1957 in Newton. He died in 1984. In 1995, she married Victor Halligan, who died in 2000.

She was a homemaker and worked for her husband Lynn at Eagle Grove Home Improvement. She also trained and rode horses. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church and the women's circle. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, dancing and travel. She lived in Webster City, Newton and moved to Eagle Grove in 1965.

Survivors include five children and their spouses, Bud Breckenridge of Des Moines, Doris and Ben Badger of Escondido, Calif., Helen and Bob Renner of Fairhope, Ala., Doug and Michelle Gambrill of Eagle Grove and Peggy and James Osborne of Edgewood, MD.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lee Davis of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Walter Breckenridge; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth; and three sisters, Lois, Dorothy and Margaret.
