MOUNT PLEASANT — Funeral services for Laneta Jo De Jong Wade, 33, of 1402 Old Highway 34, Mount Pleasant, a former resident of Newton, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton.
The Rev. Bill Adams, assistant pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Newton.
Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton after 10 a.m. Friday and from then until time of services at the church.
Memorials to the Iowa Marrow Donors Program or the church will be accepted.
She died Wednesday morning at the University Hospitals in Iowa City of leukemia.
Survivors are her husband, John; two sons, Nicholas and Alexander, both at home; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold, in 1988, her mother, Arlene, in 1989, and a step-grandmother, Lucille Dennis, in 1993.
Mrs. Wade, a homemaker and employee of CGB Printing, attended the Community Heights Alliance Church.
The daughter of Harold F. and Arlene Dennis De Jong, she was born April 28, 1960 in Newton and was a 1978 graduate of Newton Community High School.
She was married to John D. Wade Aug. 28,1978 in Newton.
Mrs. Wade had resided in Newton and St. Charles prior to moving to Mount Pleasant in 1991.
