Verheul, Sarah
Died: - Mrs. John Verheul, at the family residence, eight miles southwest of Newton, Tuesday, August 28, 1894, at 4 a. m., after a severe sickness of typhoid fever.
Mrs. Sarah Verheul was born in Henderson County, Illinois, June 2, 1851. She was married to John Verheul July 14, 1866. To this union were born ten children, nine of whom survive to comfort the bereaved husband.
Mrs. Verheul was an earnest, sincere Christian, has been a member of the M. E. Church for nineteen years, and at the time of her death was a member of the Church of that denomination at Fairmount. She was a good and loving wife and a kind and affectionate mother, and will be greatly missed both in the home circle and in the community.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the M. E. Church at Monroe. Rev. Shea of Prairie City, officiating.

Monroe Mirror. Sarah Verheul, nee Clark, wife of John Verheul, died at her residence north of Monroe, Aug. 28, 1894, aged 43 years, 2 months and 26 days. She was born, June 2, 1851, in Henderson County, Illinois. She was the mother of ten children, nine of which are now living. She was a model Christian, a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a member of the M.E. Church at Fairmount.
