Mrs. Kingma Dies Today
Mrs. Egbert (Evelyn Mae) Kingma, 58, 1240 N. 4th Ave. W., a resident of Newton since 1932, died this morning at her home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Lutheran Church.
The Rev. H. Eugene Cedarholm, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at Johnson Funeral Chapel after 4 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Surviving are her widower; two daughters, Mrs. Sandy (Colleen) McLeod of Oceanside, Calif., and Mrs. James (Phyllis) Kimler of Newton; a son, E. E. (Bud) Kingma of San Francisco, Calif., and two grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. J. D. (Verna) Shepherd of Newton and Miss Grace Durr of Newton; and a brother, Floyd Durr of Grinnell.
Mrs. Kingma was an active member of the First Lutheran Church.
The daughter of Clarence and Mamie Coalhard Durr, she was born April 8, 1912 at Grinnell.
She was married May 29, 1932 in Newton.
Mrs. Kingma resided in Boise, Idaho, from 1916 to 1918. She moved from there to California where she resided until moving to Newton.
