Services Set for Charles Kent
Services for Charles Elmer Kent, 73, Prescott, Mich., former resident of Lynnville, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. Edwin Frohardt, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Wednesday.
Surviving are four sons, Ernest Wayne Kent of Davenport, Edwin Carroll Kent of Agency, Robert Kent of Washington, D.C., and Keith Kent of Keota; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Robertson of Atkinson, Ill., and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Loren Murphy of Newton, Mrs. Paul Jones of Newton, Mrs. Beulah Knapp of Spencer and Mrs. Adolph Krumm of Grinnell; and four brothers, Floyd of Newton, Harvey of East Moline, Ill., Edwin C. of Sylmar, Calif., and Leonard of Davenport.
He was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and a sister.
Mr. Kent, who had been employed as a mechanic, had retired.
The son of Charles M. and Josie Bell Kent, he was born Oct. 23, 1896 in Lynnville.
Mr. Kent moved to Michigan from Lynnville in 1940.
He died Saturday afternoon in Prescott.
