Jacob Swank is Dead

Swank, Jacob

On the 6th of September, in St. Louis, Mo., Jacob Swank was born. He died at his residence south of this city Sunday, August 22, 1897. At the age of two years, he moved with his parents to Marion County, Ia., where on the 18th of February 1869, he was united in marriage with Annie Debruyn and after a few years they removed to Jasper County, where their home had since been.

The bereaved wife and seven children are left to mourn the departure of the one they dearly loved. One little daughter passed on on before her father.

Mr. Swank was during the latter years of his life a member of the Methodist Protestant Church at the McKinnie class. He died trusting in the One whose life had been his guide.

The funeral occurred at Mt. Zion Church, Wednesday, the services being conducted by Rev. Thos. W. Noble, and was attended by a large concourse of friends and neighbors.
