Edna Pedersen Succumbs; Rites Slated Tuesday

Pedersen, Edna (Biggs)

Mrs. Paul (Edna) Pedersen, 36, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died Saturday evening at a local hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from St. John's Lutheran Church with the pastor, the Rev. L. H. Stretch, officiating.

Organ music will be provided by Mrs. Marvin Northnagel. In charge of flowers will be Mrs. Nadine Buss, Mrs. Lorraine Anderson, Mrs. Audrey Oltrogge and Mrs. Melba Strickler. Pallbearers will be Donald Pederson, Donald Hasselbrink, Merle Sparks, Eugene Lang, Earl Beaver and Wilbur Molison.

Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Those desiring may contribute to the St. John's Lutheran Parish Education Unit Building Fund, the Community Hospital Building Fund, or the American Cancer Society.

The daughter of Howard and Clarice Biggs, she was born on August 6, 1926, at Douds, Iowa. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School and the Paris School of Beauty at Cedar Rapid. She was employed for a time in Cedar Rapids. She was employed for a time in Cedar Rapids and also at the Modernistic Beauty Salon in Grinnell.

She was united in marriage with Paul Pedersen on Nov. 14, 1948, at the Trinity Lutheran Church north of Malcom. Since their marriage they had farmed three miles sourth of Grinnell. They were the parents of three children - - - Perry Paul, 10, Kyle Olaf, 8, and Neva Arlene, 3.

Mrs. Pedersen was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and Esther Circle of the Women of the Church.

Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her parents, Mr and Mrs. Howard Biggs of Fairfield; four brothers- - - Charles Biggs of Freemont, Alden and Wayne Biggs of Fairfield, and Harold Biggs of Newell; her sister, Arlene Biggs of Fairfield , and her grandfather, Charles Olson of Falon, Wis.
