Sudden Summons

Morse, John H.

John H. Morse, whose home was just west of Kellogg, died very suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. I. E. Campbell, of this city, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock. He came to Newton with his daughter Edith to be examined for increase of pension. Heart failure caused his death. Mr. Morse was a soldier in the 80th Ohio. Until about two years ago he had lived for many years in Richland Township, and had always taken an active and prominent part in township and county affairs, always being on the right side of every moral question. He leaves an aged companion and two daughters - Mrs. I. E. Campbell, of this city, and Edith, unmarried, who have the sympathy of all in their sudden and sad bereavement. The remains will be taken to sully, today, where funeral services will be held, after which he will be laid to rest in Swan Cemetery.
