MARY ESTHER MICKLE (Wife of George Poulson)

Mary Esther Mickle was born July 9, 1880, in Scotland. Her parents were William and Mary Mickle. When she was a baby her parents came to the United States and lived for a few years in Ohio. They then moved to Jasper County, Iowa, where the deceased resided until her marriage to George W. Poulson, March 18, 1908.

For a number of years they made their home in northern Iowa. In 1919 the family moved to Martin County, Minnesota, and lived on farms in the Ceylon, Sherburn and Granada communities. In September, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Poulson moved from their farm home in Nashville township to Granada, Minnesota.

Mrs. Poulson was preceded in death by her husband, who died May 20, 1946. He had been in failing health for a number of years, but in spite of that handicap she was quite active. Death came March 1, 1948.

Three children survive, including Floyd, of Granada; Ernest of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Mrs. Orlo (Mae) Carpenter, Granda.

Brothers and sisters surviving are: Mrs. Margaret Hagen, Valparaiso, Ind.; Mrs. Minnie Battles, Farrar, Iowa; Mrs. Alice Canney, North Liberty, Iowa; Mrs. Jessie Ross, Farrar, Iowa; Mrs. Edith Phalen, Colfax, Iowa; John Mickle, Mitchelville, Iowa. She leaves ten grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
