Obituary – Mrs. T. O. Wonders
Rosa Alice Havens, daughter of Henry C. and Lucinda Havens, was born near Colfax, Iowa, Aug. 25, 1877, and died at her home in Newton on Wednesday, March 4, 936, at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 21 days.
She was united in marriage to Thomas O. Wonders Aug. 17, 1896, and to this union eight children were born, Harry Ward, George Albert, Ruth Naomi, Bessie Lerose, Ruby Irene, Leota Lucinda and two children who died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, two sons, Harry W. Wonders of Waterloo, and George A. Wonders of Newton. Four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Berlau and Mrs. Arthur Arrowood of Newton, Mrs. Lawrence Rawlins of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Forest Ackelman of Des Moines; two brothers, William Havens of Kellogg, and John W. Havens of Newton, and two sisters, Mrs. Sam Acklin of Newton and Mrs. Estella Kartchner of Colfax. Nine grandchildren survive
Mrs. Wonders was an active member of the Assembly of God church.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Newton. Burial was in the Slaughter cemetery.
