As per Bobby, Sr.’s wishes he has been cremated and there will be no services.

Robert Dey “Bobby” Jackson, Sr., the son of Harvey Harris and Dorothea May Banks Jackson, Sr. was born on August 23, 1942 in Newton, Iowa.

Bobby was a musician, playing the drums. He had played drums for internationally-known Jazz guitarist, Calvin Keys and for Keith Hamilton.

Bobby died on Sunday, January, 12, 2020, at his home in Newton. He was 77. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, April Bennett; and nephew, Ronald “Deno” Williams.

Those left to honor Bobby’s memory are his children, Bobby Jackson, Jr. of Newton, Jerome Jackson of Kellogg and Michelle Jackson (Billy Hobbs) of Kellogg; brothers, Harvey H. (Pat) Jackson, Jr. and Michael T. Jackson, both of Newton; sisters, Joanne Jackson of California and Marchelle Jackson of New York, New York; and his many nieces and nephews. ~ The Wallace Family Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 12 Jan 2020.
