June 8, 1938 ~ January 8, 2020 (age 81)

Donna June Northcutt, 81, of Newton died on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., Saturday, January 11, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Immediately following the visitation a graveside service will be held at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials to St Jude Children’s Hospital may be left at the funeral home.

Donna, the daughter of Nove and Vivian (Tipton) McConkey, was born on June 8, 1938 in Milan, Missouri. She moved to Newton, Iowa and graduated from Newton High School. She was united in marriage with Kenneth Rainey. Following his death Donna was married to Wayne Northcutt on November 24, 1969 in Newton. Donna worked and later retired from the Newton Community Schools where she worked in food service at Berg Middle School. Donna enjoyed word search puzzles, lottery tickets, and spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her children, Becky Lane of Knoxville, Pamela Hernandez of Marshalltown, Dennis (Lori) Rainey of Newton, and Pat (Renae) Northcutt of Newton; grandchildren, Chelsie, Jimmy, Colton, Eric, Jon, Kendra, Buffi, Courtney, Jenny, Heather, Jessie, and Ashton; her many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Nove McConkey; mother, Vivian McIntire; step-father, Lloyd McIntire; husband, Wayne on November 6, 2019; sons, Douglas Rainey and Darrell “Buddy” Rainey; granddaughter, Amy; great-granddaughter, Kaydance; and two sisters, Connie Pickett and Katherine Lambert.
