Henry A. Saak Dies Monday; Rites Thursday
Baxter – Henry A. Saak, 84, a resident of Baxter since his retirement in 1945, died Monday at the Marshalltown Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bethany United Church of Christ east of Baxter.
The Rev. Harold Behle, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter is handling arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Meta; a son, Virgil of Baxter; and a grandson, Wayne of Baxter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy, four brothers and two sisters.
The son of Herman and Eleanor Reineke Saak, he was born Oct. 2, 1887 northeast of Baxter and attended rural Jasper County schools.
He was a baptized and confirmed member of the Bethany United Church of Christ.
He was married to Meta Sanderman Nov. 30, 1910.
