Hannah J. Taylor was born in Preble County, Ohio, May 26, 1846 where she lived till the winter of 1863, when she moved with her mother and sisters to Henry County, Iowa, her father having died a few years before. In the year 1870 she moved to Jasper County and on March 9, 1870, she married M. E. Knapp. To this union were born four children ­ three boys and one girl. All are living and with their father mourn her departure. Mrs. Knapp departed this life Wednesday, August 18th. From a child she lived in the communion of the Friends’ Church, and about eighteen years ago she united with the Christian Church at Kellogg. In this communion she lived, believing in God and trusting in Christ for her redemption. The funeral was held from the house Saturday, August 21, by Rev. Le Grand Pace conducting the services.
