Monroe - Mrs. James Kerr died Wednesday morning at her home in this place. Mrs. Kerr was one of our oldest settlers and a woman who was respected and honored by all. Her funeral will be held at the house today. ~ The Newton Record, Friday, November 23, 1894, Page 10, Column 2
