GRINNELL, Iowa - Steven Wayne Kelso, 44, of 13528 Hwy. F 27 E. in rural Grinnell, died of cancer Friday, July 3 at his home.

Funeral services were held today at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton. Burial was at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton.

Memorials in Mr. Kelso's name will be accepted.

The son of Leland “Bud” and Joan Winn Kelso, he was born Jan. 9, 1954 on Newton. He attended Newton schools.

He married Ginger Landuyt Aug. 30, 1996 in Brooklyn.

A resident of rural Grinnell, he previously resided in Newton. Mr. Kelso was employed by the Maytag Company in the inspection department. He was a member of the UAW Local No. 997.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Eelijah of Grove City, Ohio and Casey and Cody, both of Grinnell; two daughters, Danielle Christy of Grove City, Ohio and Tosha Kelso of Grinnell; two step-daughters, Chelsea McCurry and Brooklyn Housley, both of Grinnell; a grandson; a brother and sistter-in-law, Rick and Deb of Ottumwa; a sister, Linda (Mrs. Delmar) Ray of Centerville; his father; two nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother.
