Wellington Jackson returned from Tarkio, Mo., Saturday evening, whither he had been called recently by the death of his father, Mr. John C. Jackson, who died on the 27th of ult (last month) and was buried on the 29th. Father Jackson was seventy years of age lacking a few days. He lived in Jasper County during the years of ’71, ’72 and ’73, and farmed the Failor place north of Newton. He was a good man, and many of his old friends here will be grieved to learn of his death.
