Groenenboom, Lucille (Fudge)

Lucille Groenenboom, 91, of Newton died Friday at USA Health Care Center in Newton. Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Friends Cemetery in New Sharon with the Rev. James Finn of the New Sharon Assembly of God Church officiating. Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon is handling arrangements. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home where family will be available from noon until time of the service.

The daughter of Tom and Nellie Van Gorp Fudge, she was born Feb. 27, 1910, In Searsboro. She was a graduate of Searsboro High School. She had lived in New Sharon for many years, caring for her mother, and also lived and worked in Des Moines for several years. She married Henry Groenenboom in Missouri. She had attended the Friends Church in New Sharon and the Newton Baptist Church. She was a resident of Newton for the past several years and enjoyed reading and traveling.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.
