Kay (Klouda) Duncan
1936-2019Kay Klouda Duncan, 83 of Newton, passed away on October 30, 2019, at the Comfort House of Pella.
The only child of Frank and Ima Klouda, she was born during a blizzard on January 27, 1936, in Newton, Iowa. A lifelong resident of Newton, she graduated from Newton High in 1954.On June 2, 1956, Kay was married to Kenneth Duncan, a career Air Force Airman in Newton, Iowa, whose assignments took them all over the world. They divorced in 1972.
Kay retired from Progress Industries where she loved the job she did and was passionate about those she helped.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Mike) Routh of Newton and Kathi (Dave) Talsma of Monroe. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Ben Gordon, Nicole (Nick) Berry, Erica (Sean) Carlock and Brandon (Holly) Talsma and nine great grandchildren, Brady Gordon, Andrew and Lily Bowes, Isabel Berry, Emery, Kason, Sadie, Bexley, and Mattis Talsma. She is also survived by her cousins and many wonderful friends.
A private family inernment will be held at Newton Union Cemetery. Kay will be lovingly join her parents.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held at Zellig Brewery on November 23, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm. Please join us as we celebrate her wonderful life and the love she had for everyone. If you are unable to attend please send your memories or stories about Kay to Kim Routh at 2800 S. 2nd Avenue East, Newton, Iowa 50208.
Donations to Kay's wonderful life can be dropped off at the celebration or mailed to Kim Routh at 2800 S. 2nd Ave East, Newton, Iowa 50208. All memorials will be made to Pella Comfort House Hospice for the compassionate and loving care given to Kay in her final days. ~ 30 Oct 2019.
