Had Been Resident of County For 47 Years; Was Native of England
Gibson, Hannah (Smith)

Mrs. Harry Gibson passed away at her home at Oswalt following an illness of some time, having been a resident of this county for nearly half a century.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) from the home, with Rev. L. C. McDonald officiating.

Mrs. Hannah Gibson was born in Sheraton, England, May 4, 1854, and departed this life from her home in Oswalt, August 21, 1933. Age 79 years, 3 months, and 17 days.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Gibson, who is in failing health, and two sons, Ted and George of Oswalt, two daughters, Mrs. Minnie McKeever of Oswalt, Mrs. Ray Johnson of Des Moines, together with a host of other relatives and friends.

It was near 47 years ago when Mrs. Gibson, with three of her children, joined her husband after a long trip from England. They made their home then in Jasper County, near Newton. Later moving to the Oswalt community. All of these years they have resided in this county.

Obituary--Mrs. Harry Gibson

Hannah Gibson, daughter of George and Mary Smith, was born in Sheraton, England, May 4, 1854, and died on August 21st, 1933, at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 17 days.

She leaves four sisters and two brothers in England.

She was united in marriage to Henry Gibson in the year of 1873. To this union thirteen children were born, four of whom survive, Mrs. Nate McKeever of Oswalt, Mrs. Ray Johnson of Des Moines, George and Ted of Oswalt, and seventeen grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.

She was a kind and loving mother and leaves a host of friends to mourn her passing.

She was a member of the Christian Church, having placed her membership there when a young girl.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Thursday with Rev. L. C. McDonald officiating.
