Gloria Selvog, 69, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019 in the comfort of her own home.

Following Gloria’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no public services held at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed in Gloria’s name to her family, which will be later designated elsewhere at a later date. Gloria Leonard was born on March 26, 1950 in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Shirley (Parker) Leonard. She was raised and educated in the Newton School district, where she graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1968. Gloria was united in marriage to Mike Selvog in June of 1978. The two later divorced in 1998.

She was a very hard working woman, dedicating her working years at Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg and her longest and most recent job was at the Marshalltown Hospital in the Housekeeping department. Gloria loved to read, do crossword puzzles, watching her favorite shows (“Gun Smoke”) was one of those favorites as well as spending time with family.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister: Linda Olson; two nieces: Chris Propst and Shelley Dodd; special friend: Susan Haines Peak of Grinnell and several great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Shirley Leonard; two brothers: Steve Leonard and infant brother: Michael Leonard. ~ The Mitchell Funeral Home, Marshalltown, Iowa 18 Oct 2019.
