RITES HERE FOR MRS. ELLA GARVER, FORMER RESIDENT
Ella Garver (nee Robison)

Mrs. Ella Garver, 75, of Nestor, Calif., a former Grinnell (IA) resident, died Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. M. Kaisand of Rte. 2, Tama, where she and her husband had been residing for the last six weeks. She had been in failing health since September of 1963. Funeral services will lbe held at 2 p.m. (CDT) Tuesday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Custer, pastor of the Grinnell Methodist church, officiating. Organ music will be provided by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner.

Pallbearers will be Gene Hunter, Claire Hutchinson, Marvin Cummings, James Robison, Dennis Garver and Timothy Garver. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery. She was the daughter of J. O. Robison and Mary Schnell Robinson and was born Oct. 29th, 1888, at Edgington, Ill. When she was a small child the family moved to Newburg, Iowa, where they farmed and she attended Newburg No. 7 rural school.

On Nov. 29th, 1906, she was united in marriage with Floyd B. Garver. Six children were born to this union, with three surviving: Mrs. C. M. (Ruth) Kaisand of Rte. 2, Tama, and Lyle E. and Edward F. Garver, both of Gary, Ind.

In addition to her daughter and two sons, Mrs. Garver is survived by her husband, Floyd; a brother, Lewis E. Robison of Rte. 1, Grinnell; and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Cole of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mrs. Gertrude Hunter, widow of the late John Hunter of Grinnell; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three children: Lloyd Dale Garver at age one year, Ione Jeannette at age three, and Earl E. Garver at age 21. Also preceding her in death were three brothers and two sisters; Leonard, Jack, Sidney, Blanche and Etta. Mrs. Garver and her husband had lived in Grinnell after they left the Newburg area, and for the past 20 years had lived in Nestor, Calif., until six weeks ago.
