Galbreth, Minnie Iva

A short illness was fatal Sunday morning to Minnie Iva Galbreth, 74, resident here since 1911. She died at the home of a brother Charles P. Galbreth, 1003 North Minnesota Ave.

Funeral arrangements have not been made, but burial will be in the family lot at Colfax, Ia. The body is at the Goodman mortuary.

Miss Colfax was born near Monroe, Ia., on a farm and spent her early life and received her education there. She came here 32 years ago, becoming a member of the Methodist church.

Three brothers, Charles and Edwin, Sioux Falls, and William Galbreth, Newton, Ia.; survive.

Rites In Colfax Wednesday For Former Resident

COLFAX - Funeral services for Minnie Iva Galbreth, 75, former Colfax resident who died Sunday in Sioux Falls, S. D., were held here at the Bumgardner Funeral home Wednesday with the Rev. S. G. Williams in charge. Interment was in the Highland Cemetery. Daughter of the late Elizabeth (Lewis) and Thomas Galbreth, Miss Galbreth was born near Monroe on Jan. 6, 1869 and had later resided in Colfax until 1911 when she went to Sioux Falls, to make her home with her brother, C. P. Galbreth.

Immediate surviving relatives include three brothers, W. H. Galbreth of Newton, Ed Galbreth of Reeder, S. D., and C. P. Galbreth of Sioux Falls, also several nieces and nephews including William Galbreth and Mrs. Eleanor Tyler, both of Newton.

Music during the services included sons by Mrs. B. Van Dyke and Mrs. Earl Plummer, accompanied by Mrs. C. Hulse.

Pallbearers were B. A. Brown, Ed Meekley, R. S. Fletcher, James Parks, Roscoe Berkley and William Galbreth. Newspaper unknown, Feb 18, 1944
