Mrs. Elmer J. Fitzgarrald, whose serious illness we noted, died at her home, four miles west of Newton Tuesday afternoon. Deceased had been ill with consumption. The bereaved husband has lost a loving helpmate.

Mrs. Elmer J. Fitzgerrald died at her home, four miles west of Newton, at 12 o'clock, Tuesday, October 2, 1894, after an illness lasting over a year, of that dread malady, consumption.

Dora Rorabaugh was born in Jasper County in 1867, residing with her parents in Mound Prairie Township until a few years ago, when she was married to Elmer J. Fitzgerrald, who with the parents, brothers and sisters of the deceased are left to mourn a loving and devoted wife, an affectionate daughter and kind sister.

The funeral services were held Wednesday, in Sugar Grove Church, conducted by Rev. Huffman. The remains were laid to rest in the Metz (Sugar Grove) Cemetery. ~ The Newton (Iowa) Record, Friday, October 5, 1894, Page 1, Column 3
