Fisher, Charles W.

Charles W. Fisher died at the home of his sons, Charles and John Fisher, in Bear Grove Township, Cass County, Iowa, January 6, 1895. Charles W. Fisher, aged 80 years, 6 months and 11 days.

Deceased was born in Saxaltenburg, Germany, June 24, 1814. He came to America in 1835 and settled in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, where he resided until the fall of 1854, when he moved to Iowa, locating in Buena Vista Township, Jasper County, Iowa, living there until April 1872, when he moved to Bear Grove Township, Cass County, Iowa, where he died. His wife died in April 1887.

Grandpa Fisher has been blind for several years and in poor health for about a year. He leaves three sons to mourn the loss of a kind and loving father - Charles and John of Cass County, and Joseph A. Fisher, of Newton, Iowa.

The funeral was held at the house Monday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. J. Farley, assisted by Rev. B. H. Harris, after which he was laid to rest beside his wife in Lewis Cemetery.
