Sarah G. Dodd Rites Scheduled For Saturday
Colfax – Funeral services for Mrs. Loren (Sarah Gertrude) Dodd, 81, of Colfax, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Colfax Christian Church.
The Rev. Harold Den Hartog, pastor of the Metz Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Rorabaugh Cemetery, east of Colfax.
Survivors are four sons, Willis of Charles City, Lloyd of Newton and Frank and Colin, both of Dallas, Tex.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Twyla) Versteegh; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Glen Breedon of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Joseph and Harlin; a daughter, Virginia Fenn; and three half-brothers.
Mrs. Dodd, a former employee of the First National Bank in Colfax, was a member of the Metz Church.
The daughter of Willis and Cilina Worden Campbell, she was born Nov. 16, 1898 in Colfax.
She was married to Loren Dodd Sept. 19, 1912.
Mrs. Dodd died Wednesday at the Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
