SERVICES FOR WILBUR ELLIOTT HELD WEDNESDAY
Wilbur D. Elliott

Wilbur D. Elliott, 59, died suddenly at his home at 927 1/2 Broad St. Thursday afternoon.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home with the Rev. C. E. Kingsley, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Vocal music was provided by Mrs. Noel Taylor, accompanied at the organ by Kathleen Heffner.

Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Shirley Sisco and Mrs. Delbert Elliott. Pallbearers were Robert Bullock, Richard Van Draska, Robert Henderson, Marlyn Olson, Shirley Sisco, and Delbert Elliott. Interment was in Rock Creek cemetery.

Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Wilma of Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Irene) Brant of Altoona, Mrs. Sam (Barbara) Kizer of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Joe (Mary) Vaughn of Tripoli, Ia., Marilyn Elliott of Sumner; and a son, Roger Eugene of Sumner.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Gilmore Robbins of Grinnell; and a brother, Harold of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The son of Edgar and Isabelle Faircloth Elliott, he was born on Aug. 23rd, 1901, in Grinnell. He attended the rural schools of Rock Creek Township and served with the U. S. Navy from January, 1927, until February, 1932. He was a machinist by trade and was employed by the Automatic, Winpower, and Parsons companies of Newton.

Mr. Elliott was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Verterans, Eagles Lodge, and the Veterans of Foreigh Wars.
