Dearman, Leo and Gerald

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Dearman, in this city, has suffered terrible affliction during the past week. Their little son, Leo, died from diphtheria last Friday afternoon, after an illness of only four days, and was buried in the evening of the same day. On Sunday, Gerald, the next younger child, four years old, was attacked by the same dread disease, died on Tuesday morning, and buried at 7 o'clock in the evening. It is a crushing blow to the parents, who almost idolize their children, and especially sad because they were compelled to nurse and care for their little ones alone, the contagious nature of the disease preventing neighbors and friends rendering the assistance they so much needed.
