Iowa Falls -- Memorial graveside services for Maude Lynette McMurry Cook, 87, of rural Iowa Falls, formerly of Newton, were held Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Nevada City Cemetery in Nevada.

The Rev. Eddie Akins, pastor of the Abundant Life Chapel in Dows, conducted services.

Memorials to the family may be sent to Mrs. Don Meyer, Rt. 3, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

She died Friday at the home of her daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Don Meyer of congestive heart failure.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arthur, in 1977, an infant son, David, in 1934, two daughters, Joan Borchert and Mona Sweet; two brothers, Dr. Edward McMurray and Dr. Herbert McMurry; and a grandson.

Mrs. Cook, owner and administrator of the Golden Inn Nursing Home until her retirement in 1976, had worked for the Newton School District and for Tri County State Bank in Newton.

Mrs. Cook was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, where she was baptized Dec. 23, 1928 and the Zearing Christian Church.

The daughter of William Elmer and Lynette Payne McMurray, she was born Jan. 18, 1905 in Newton and was graduated from Newton Community High School.

She was married to Arthur Joseph Cook January 18, 1927 at her parents' home in Newton.

Mrs. Cook also had resided in Clear Lake, Zearing, McCallsburg, Nevada and State Center.
