Phoebe Esther Rorabaugh was born November 7, 1861, in Jasper County, Iowa. She lived at her birth place until she married Herman Ofe, September 23, 1884. In 1885 they moved to Madison, Nebraska, where they resided nine years. From there they moved in the spring of 1893 to their present home north of Oakdale where she died of tuberculosis October 22, 1904 being 42 years, 11 months and 15 days old. She leaves a husband, six daughters, two sons, a mother, five brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss, her father, brother and sister having preceded her to her eternal home.
She was converted in 1894 and has lived a good consistent Christian life ever since. She had been sick about two years and was bedfast almost a month when death came to her relief. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a good neighbor and we miss her from our midst. – Oakdale (Neb.) Sentinel.
