Funeral services for Carl O. Repp, 86, of 907 N. 3rd Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1942, were held today, Aug. 3, at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.
The Rev. William Calhoun, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation with the family was held Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church or to Skiff Medical Center Home Health Care will be accepted.
He died Friday at Skiff Medical Center of a ruptured aneurysm.
Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald D. and Betty Repp and Carl L. and Jane Repp, all of Newton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Lou Abel, Patty Ann and Paul Davis, Donna Jean and Maynard Mettler and Carolyn Kay and Homer Revell, all of Newton; 21 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene, May 17, 1989, a great-grandson, three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Repp, a member of the United Auto Workers, Local 997, Retirees Union, was a grinder in the machine shop at the Maytag Co. for 26.7 years, retiring in June 1968.
The son of Victor and Sarah Ellen Parker Repp, he was born March 8, 1906 in Melrose and attended Monroe County rural schools.
He was married to Irene Edna Gragg Sept. 10, 1924 in Albia.
