Mrs. Leona Breeden, 61, of Garden City, Mich., died Thursday Sept. 17, at a hospital in Wayne, Mich. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin G. Beason and was born on Jan. 20, 1909, in Grinnell. She attended the Grinnell public schools and graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1927. On Dec. 31, 1932, she was married to Lloyd Breeden at the Congregational Church in Omaha, Neb. Following their marriage, they lived in Grinnell until 1941, at Ida Grove for four years, at Atlantic for 14 years, at Manchester for five years, and in the Detroit area the past five years.

She was a member of the Mount Hope Congregational Church of Lavonia, Mich., and its women's church groups. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge since 1928 and served the organization as its Noble Grand.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd; a son, John M. Breeden of Iowa City; four brothers, Glenn C. Beason of Sterling Heights, Mich., Lloyd E. Beason of Norwalk, Calif., Eldon L. Beason of Huntington Park, Calif., and Donald Beason of Duncan, Okla; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Helen and a brother Floyd.

Funeral services for Mrs. Breeden were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home, with the Rev. Newell E. Davis, pastor of the United Church of Christ Congregational, officiating. Interment was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Kathleen Heffner, and pallbearers included Ellis Brown, Richard Beason, Dallas Hogan, Harold Whitcomb, Loren Vieth and Harold Breeden.
