Barbara Talbot Dies Thursday; Rites Saturday
Barbara Sue Talbot, 21, of 520 1st St. N., a lifelong resident of Newton, died Thursday morning at the University Hospitals in Iowa City, following complications resulting from childbirth.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
Capt. Marian Gustafson of the Newton Salvation Army Citadel will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Tolland-Wallace Funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
Survivors are a son, James “Jamie” Matthew Talbot, 6 days old; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll F. Talbot of Newton; a sister, Mrs. Marion (Shirley) Collins of Lynnville; two brothers, Randall and Jeffrey of Newton; and her paternal grandparents, Mrs. Mildred Talbot of Newton and Harold I. Talbot of Pueblo, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James M. Keith, and a sister, Brenda, in infancy.
The daughter of Carroll F. and Frances Keith Talbot she was born Mar. 21, 1955 in Newton and attended Newton schools.
